Fri. Jan 18 Hour 2: The Wicked Witch of the West; Veteran Afraid of His Mother

| 1) Jesse and Joel start the hour by reading some Super Chats and other online comments. Maxine Waters, the Wicked Witch of the West, issues a warning to Wall Street as the new chairwoman of powerful committee. She plans to stop the "corruption" of the big banks. Jesse wonders who's going to keep an eye on her. Chicago officers were acquitted of the attempted cover up of the shooting of Laquan McDonald back in 2014. McDonald was the black male who was found walking down a street on drugs slashing tires. He was shot by officer Van Dyke who was convicted of 2nd degree murder and aggravated battery. Steve is a second time caller from Idaho. He says he has a $20,000 question for Jesse: What is Jesse's favorite thing about himself? Jesse answers by saying that he used to brag about things but not anymore. Chad is a 29-year-old veteran from Florida who called to ask about advice on forgiveness and judgement. He is concerned that his mother doesn't show enough affection toward his son. She apparently only held him once the first 9 months of the child's life. Jesse says he should be grateful for that because grandmothers like to suck the life out of their grandchildren. Chad has been married twice. Jesse says he must forgive his mother because he will end up marrying his "mama" if he does not. Chad then asks Jesse how to stop judging people. Jesse says once you forgive, you will overcome all thoughts of judgement. | 2) Back to Chad out of Florida. He says that he is the most caring of his siblings to his mother. Jesse says that it's not her kids' fault, it's her own fault. Chad then admits that his father has been absent, and that his mother and her friends ran him off. Jesse suggests to not resent his father either. He must be the Christ of his home. Chad then admits that he is a white man that is dating a Spanish woman. He says he would've rather met a white woman, but that he is too in his feelings to dump her.
