Our guest this morning is Tom Bakaly, Chief Executive Officer, Beach Cities Health District, where he has served since November 2016.
Tom provides strategic leadership and direction to all functions of one of the nation’s largest preventative health agencies and manages $90 million in assets, 170 employees, and 1,000 volunteers. Prior to joining Beach Cities Health District, Tom was City Manager of Hermosa Beach. During his four-year tenure, he worked in close partnership with BCHD on several influential community health initiatives, including the nationally acclaimed Blue Zones Project.
Beach Cities Health District will host the first community open house for the Healthy Living Campus project on October 17 at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center. The event will include a formal presentation on the draft plans, as well as several information stations focused on various aspects of the community project, including project overview, community involvement, EIR process, the need for senior living and more.
This morning, we’re going to learn about the Healthy Living Campus project and how it will enhance the quality of life here in the South Bay.
