「タロとジロと南極に行った三毛猫たけしの話」　南極に行った三毛猫たけし映画「南極物語」で一躍有名になったワンちゃん「タロ」と「ジロ」。　初代南極観測船・宗谷で南極に渡ったことで知られていますが、実は猫も南極に行っていたことをご存知でしょうか？その名は「たけし」。三毛猫の男の子です。宗谷出港の際、ひとりの女性が訪れ「オスの三毛猫は航海のお守りに縁起がいいので、どうぞ連れて行って下さい」と隊員に預けた…という話を始め、たけしくんの乗船に関しては諸説ありますが、南極に行ったのは紛れも無い事実。ちなみに「たけし」という名前の由来は初代南極観測隊隊長の名前が永田武さんだったことから。当時の名前募集の記事も残されています。たけしくんはタロとジロなどの樺太犬のように犬ぞりを引いて働いたり、研究の対象とはされなかったため、残されている記録はごくわずか。そんな、日本でただ一匹南極で越冬した猫、たけしくんの貴重な写真が近年、発見されました。出発して間もない頃と思われる仔猫のたけしくんたけしくんは昭和基地のアイドルとして、隊員たちの心を日々癒していたそうです。将棋観戦をするたけしくん抱っこされて完全にリラックス状態（笑）みんなに可愛がられたたけしくんには専用の救命胴衣も！甲板でお休み中♪隊員の皆さんが感謝の気持ちを込めて作った、手作りの救命胴衣だったそうです。中でも特に仲良しだったのが作間隊員。毎晩、たけしくんは作間隊員の寝袋に入り込み、一緒に寝ていたそうです。作間隊員と遊ぶたけしくんしかし、南極生活では大変なことも。それが「たけしくん感電事件」…続きはこちらから　https://petomorrow.jp/news_cat/61502/3取材・文／太田ポーシャ（PETomorrow編集部）参考資料：国立極地研究所アーカイブ室　https://polaris.nipr.ac.jp/~archives/contents/takeshi.html　　　　：『こねこのタケシ』（文/阿見みどり絵/わたなべあきお教育出版センター）構成／inox.
