THE ROAD FOR US TO WALK
Our meditation on Monday of the first week of Advent the liturgical year C has the theme: The Road for Us to Walk. We all know that the small, medium and big roads are for us to walk on them. However, many of our roads are in bad condition during this rainy season. In addition, roads that are closed or blocked would cause people die. For example, a sick person eventually died because the only road leading to the hospital was closed by certain people. Many physical roads around us are damaged and very dangerous for those who use them.
There is also the spiritual road, for instance, if someone says that your way of thinking is fine, it means that your thought is reasonable and what you are saying can be well understood. When it is said that the event was running well, it means that the activity was good. It often happens with the way of thinking somehow chaotic or deadlocked. It often happens when an event is having a chaotic process, or maybe it is disbanded because it cannot be arranged well. All these often happen with us and we ourselves are the causes of problem.
As we realize that there are many roads around us are in bad condition and dangerous to us, do we experience such roads to and from God trouble us? We hope this doesn't happen. We hope that this season of Advent does not give us such opportunities. Our meetings as believers with an atmosphere of preparation for the Christmas celebrations, among others, encourage us that the road of God that we use to walk will not be the obstacle and will not cause usany harm. We want a comfortable path to Christmas celebration.
Our two readings today encourage us about God's path that is pleasing and making us walk on it with optimism and joy. The prophet Isaiah invites us to walk in the light of God, even though we are in a dim or dark life. But when we come again to this spirit of Advent, may we find light in the Lord, for in him there is no dark path or road. People who need God's grace and blessing, walk towards Him and not walk away. Even those who don't know Him find their way to Him.
When there is a dead end or a closed road that prevents you from getting to a relative or friend's house, the way to get into their heart is also blocked; maybe your way of thinking is too convoluted, not in peace or tend to be negative. This is an obstacle to a harmonious relationship. Maybe the work process or joint activities are hampered because of selfishness and self-centered orientation. This problem must be illuminated and corrected by the power of God during this Advent. The light of God will dispel obstacles of any kind, as experienced by the synagogue centurion in Capernaum who met the Lord Jesus.
Let's pray. In the name of the Father... O most loving and merciful God, guide us in the light of Your path so that we do not falter and go astray from Your path and Your dwelling. Hail Mary full of grace... In the name of the Father...
