Hey yo, so I had a chance to chat with Fiona Horne recently. Fiona is widely recognized as a leading expert on modern witchcraft, and she’s also an accomplished television and radio personality, singer/songwriter and author. She actually recently released her autobiography here in the US. It’s called The Naked Witch, which has a double meaning, seeing as how Fiona is well-known for posing in Playboy magazine, and also because she exposes herself in a different way on the pages of this book. I had heard of Fiona’s music, or the bands she was part of, DEF FX and the Mothers, specifically. But I didn’t know much about her as a person, and to be honest, I enjoyed her book a lot more than I thought I would, considering I didn’t know much about her. We didn’t have a lot of time together, so instead of making this a rather short normal episode, this is what Joe Rogan calls a fight companion. Last year we did this with my friend Chris George Zuger from the Den of Lore podcast to help raise funds for John Anthony West’s fight against cancer. John lost that fight earlier this year, and you know, I’m not sure if I ever even mentioned it on air. Regardless, I thought this was another worthy fight companion, specifically in the fight against ourselves. Fiona joined me by phone from her home in a hurricane-ravaged part of the Caribbean, so the typical cell phone quality warning applies here. But please do not let that deter you, because this is one of those chats that you will absolutely get something from, both during the chat and after it. Fiona had the life the media tries to sell you on when you’re growing up - under the bright lights of Hollywood, on the big stage of music festivals, constantly looking through the lenses of cameras. But as most of us know by now, there was something missing from that for Fiona. And, as it turns out, the thing that was missing was her. The Naked Witch on IndieBound Fiona’s website
