In this interview, Zineb El Rhazoui conveys with Roberto Quevedo, vice president of UFM about her journey as an activist that defends freedom of speech and equal rights.
She explains the reality of the Muslim world, where you cannot choose your religion, you are either jewish or by law you are consider Muslim by the law, and every single detail of your life is ruled by this religion. Specially if you are a woman, you don’t have the same rights as men, El Rhazoui explains; she realized this from a very young age.
"Is started questioning the equality between me and men. I never felt unequal, inferior to men (...) we were born as muslims but we don’t want to be prisoners of this identity”.
Later Zineb describes how the Internet has changed lots of things in terms of communication, permitting free thinkers of Islam, agnostics, atheists and secular persons to share their views and meet each other. The main threat for her and the people who also defend human liberty, is the Muslim state, therefore, social media allows people to create a network to share ideas.

Finally she conveys on her biggest challenges working as a columnist at the Charlie Hebdo Magazine and on the importance of the College Freedom Forum; she affirms that for her, it is her duty to keep speaking for the ones who can’t, and this event inspires her to keep fighting.
